The backpacking’s concept raises many questions as an ever-changing nebula in a Travel World that now markets all types of tourism. Democratized phenomenon and child of globalization and low cost, Backpacking too often benefits from a glittering and biased vision: this essay tries to clarify this concept through my own travels and introspective explorations.

I thus unpack the origins, the advantages for our society and especially the dangers of such a massive practice of this type of travel. The Butterfly Backpackers are rushing into the "Spiral of the Nomad" and are ready to burn their wings by going from flower to flower without ever metamorphosing.
